Can I request an extension to the deadline for providing further documents?

If you cannot meet the timeframe given for a response, you can request more time to provide this information.

Your Immigration Officer will consider giving an extension to provide the requested information depending on the circumstances. However, an extension to the deadline is not guaranteed.

If you have applied online you can upload a letter to your online account advising you need further time and when you will be able to supply the response/documents. Please include any supporting evidence as appropriate to show the reasons for the delays or that you have requested the documents.

If you submitted a paper-based application, you will normally have your Immigration Officer's contact details. Otherwise, you can post in a letter requesting more time.
