Can I become a resident by investing in New Zealand?
To apply for residence in New Zealand through investment you should assess yourself under our Migrant Investment Policy, which includes two Investor categories:
- Investor 1 (minimum investment NZ$10 million for at least three years) and
- Investor 2 (minimum investment NZ$3 million for at least four years).
Acceptable investments: investor visas
Each category may have specific requirements for age, English language ability, business experience, investment funds, and so on.
There is also a Temporary Retirement Category, which is a visitor visa (allowing a temporary stay of up to two years) which requires investment/assets in New Zealand.
If you're still deciding whether New Zealand is the place for you and your business, take a look at the Investment Now website.
