How long will my Skilled Migrant Category Expression of Interest remain in the pool after it is submitted?

Generally, if your Skilled Migrant Category Expression of Interest (EOI) is not selected, it will remain in the pool for six months.

If, after the six month period, your EOI has not been selected from the pool, it will be lapsed. You will receive notification that this has happened.

You are able to submit another EOI after your previous one has lapsed, but you will need to create a new online account for this purpose.

There is no refund available for EOIs which have been lapsed or declined.

Deferral of EOI draws

The most recent EOI pool draw was on 18 March 2020. Since this date, there have been no EOI pool draws.

An EOI is current for a period of six months from the date of initial submission to the pool unless no selection of EOIs from the pool has occurred within that six-month period. When this happens, an EOI is current until such time as a selection from the pool has occurred.

If you submitted an EOI after 18 March 2020, your EOI remains in the pool. Further advice will be published once EOI pool draws resume.

If you submitted an EOI before 18 March 2020, your EOI will no longer be valid.

You can refer to our news and notification centre for updates on the suspension of EOI draws.
