Question 1

You can earn points for a qualification gained overseas that is recognised in New Zealand. You can also earn bonus points for a recognised qualification gained in New Zealand.  See the recognised qualification section of our website for more information.

Question 2

The points you can earn for your qualification(s) will depend on what level your qualification occupies on the New Zealand Qualifications Framework.

Questions 3 and 4

Check if your qualification(s) is included in the List of Qualifications Exempt from Assessment and if there are any additional requirements that you need to meet.

If your qualification is not on the List of Qualifications Exempt from Assessment you will need to provide an assessment report from the NZQA (unless you have full or provisional registration and your qualification has been assessed by a New Zealand organisation as being comparable to a New Zealand qualification on the List of Qualifications Exempt from Assessment).
