Changes for residence applications processed in London Friday, 2 June 2017

From 1 July 2017, Skilled Migrant Category (SMC) residence applications currently processed in London will be processed in Auckland, New Zealand.

Instead of sending your SMC residence application to the London Visa Application Centre (VAC), you should send it directly to one of the following addresses:

If you were invited to apply for residence under the Skilled Migrant Category and your Invitation to Apply letter asked you to send your application to the London VAC, you should send your application to New Zealand if you expect it to arrive on or after 1 July 2017.

We recommend that you use a reputable international mail service when sending us your application and that you make a copy of your application before you send it to us.

Note that you do not need to send originals of your documents – we will accept certified copies of your documents including your passport (copy the biographic data page only).

Applications lodged by a Licensed Immigration Advisor or lawyer after 1 July will be processed at Henderson Area Office in Auckland, New Zealand. Applications received before this date will be processed at London Area Office.

Up until 1 July 2017, you should continue to send your application to the London VAC.

Office and Fees Finder

Applications processed in New Zealand will be charged in New Zealand dollars, and you will need to make your payment by credit card. Currently the fee for a Skilled Migrant Category residence application is NZ$2,470. Note that our online fees calculator will show the fee in British pounds until 1 July 2017.

If you send your application to the London VAC before this date but it arrives after 1 July we will still receive your application, and it will be forwarded to New Zealand for processing.

If you are notified by Immigration New Zealand that your residence application has been approved, you should submit your passport to your nearest VAC and they will arrange for a label to be placed in your passport. You will not need to send your passport to New Zealand to receive your visa label. You will need to pay a passport handling fee at your nearest (VAC) for this service.
