Seasonal work in the horticulture and viticulture industries

Recognised Seasonal Employer (RSE) Category

Our Recognised Seasonal Employer (RSE) Work Category is for temporary workers from overseas to work in the horticulture and viticulture industries.

Supplementary Seasonal Employment (SSE) Category

The Supplementary Seasonal Employment (SSE) Category allows people currently in New Zealand to work for employers who have been granted an SSE approval in principle.

Variations of Conditions (VOC)

A Variation of Conditions allows visitors in New Zealand to undertake seasonal work for a short period in regions where a shortage of seasonal labour has been declared.

Working Holiday Scheme (WHS)

Working Holiday Schemes allow a number of people from certain countries aged between 18 and 30 to come to New Zealand to travel and undertake temporary work.

Working Holidaymaker Extension (WHE)

The Working Holidaymaker Extension is a visa that people currently holding working holiday visas can apply for if they have undertaken three months of seasonal work in the horticulture or viticulture industry during their working holiday.
