Y2.10 Who is exempt from passport requirement

Immigration Regulations 1999 reg 27(1)

A member of the armed forces of any country, or a crew member of any craft used to transport members of the armed forces of any country to New Zealand, is exempt from having to produce a passport or certificate of identity under section 126(1)(b) or 126(2)(b) of the Immigration Act 1987 if:

1. members of that armed force are in New Zealand at the request or with the consent of the New Zealand Government; and
2. that person's presence in New Zealand is in the ordinary course of their duty or employment.
