WJ2.3 Cap for foreign fishing crew approvals in principle

  1. Employers may submit approval in principle (AIP) applications for their allocated numbers, as per WJ1.7, and each AIP must specify the breakdown between the number of crew members applied for as part of:
    1. their base allocation; and
    2. whether a crew change is required within the period, and confirmation of when the crew will change
  2. the maximum number of positions that an AIP can be granted for is the number of places remaining in the employer’s annual allocation
  3. Upon the granting of an AIP for roles specified as part of an employer’s allocation, the number of positions approved will be deducted from number of places available to the employer under the annual allocation

Note: Crew changes will not be counted as part of the employer’s annual allocations .
