X2.1 Persons requiring a returning resident's visa

Immigration Act 1987 ss 18 and 41(1)

The following persons require a returning resident's visa (RRV):

1. the holder of a current residence permit who wishes to leave New Zealand temporarily; or
2. a person who has held a residence permit, is temporarily overseas, and wishes to return to New Zealand; or
3. a New Zealand citizen who is travelling on the passport of another country and wishes to have a residence permit placed in that passport on return to New Zealand.
