V3.75 Department of Conservation volunteers (29/11/2010)

  1. Volunteers participating in the Department of Conservation's 'Conservation Volunteer' programme are not considered to be undertaking employment and may be granted a visitor visa and entry permission.

    Note: The Department of Conservation may provide sponsorship by completing a Sponsorship Form for Temporary Entry (INZ 1025).

  2. V3.75(a) above does not apply to people from overseas who wish to undertake training attachments in New Zealand as part of their studies (see U4.20).
  3. Each year, the Department of Conservation must report the following information:
    1. the number of volunteers; and
    2. their length of stay in New Zealand; and
    3. the type of work they are or will be undertaking; and
    4. any significant developments regarding the entry of its volunteers to New Zealand; and
    5. any proposed changes to its volunteer programme.
  4. That report must be sent to:
