E7.25 Special directions for temporary visas or permits granted for longer than the prescribed time

Immigration Act 1987 ss 26(1), 130
Immigration Regulations 1999 reg 23

1. Temporary visas issued and permits granted for a longer time than prescribed by the Immigration Regulations 1999 require a special direction under section 26(1) from an officer with Schedule 1 delegations.
2. Posts without such officers should request a special direction under section 26(1) from an officer with the required authority at another office.
