If you would like to live permanently in New Zealand, you can apply under the Skilled Migrant Category. This is a points-based system designed to ease the process for skilled and experienced migrants. Once you are approved under this category, you can live and work in New Zealand for as long as you choose.
Stay in New Zealand for less than three years
If you would prefer to stay in New Zealand for less than three years, then a work visa/permit is likely to be the best option for you. You will need a job offer to apply for a work visa/permit. This is the easiest option for overseas teachers moving to an area with an identified shortage of teachers.
