Steps to apply for a Working Holiday Scheme work visa

Follow these steps if you wish to apply for a work visa under one of our working holiday schemes

Step 1

Complete the form Working Holiday Scheme Work Visa Application (INZ 1085) PDF. Also see the guide Health Requirements (INZ 1121), which will tell you what evidence you should provide about your health. Either download these documents or pick them up from your nearest Immigration New Zealand branch.

Step 2

Along with your completed (and signed) application form you will need to provide:

  • details of your arrangements to leave New Zealand after your visa expires
  • evidence to show you meet the specific requirements of your country’s working holiday scheme
  • two recent passport-size photographs
  • a valid passport or travel document
  • the application fee.

We may ask you to supply other information or evidence. There may be additional requirements you must meet depending on the country from which you are applying.

Step 3

Supply medical certificates (where required).

Step 4

Send your completed application and fee to your nearest Immigration New Zealand branch or receiving office, either in New Zealand or overseas. Use our office and fee finder to find out where to send your application and the fee you will need to pay.
