Transitioning to Recognised Seasonal Employer (TRSE) Work Policy

You may be eligible for a permit under the Transitioning to Recognised Seasonal Employer (TRSE) Work Policy if you:

 

 

TRSE work permits may only be granted to people who are in New Zealand, and will be granted for no longer than four months.

 

There is a limited number of places available for workers under TRSE policy. The number of places reflects the number of approved TRSE Approval in Principle places. We update this limit is updated fortnightly. Your application cannot be approved if there are no remaining places when you apply. See if there are places available.

 

Successful TRSE work permit applicants may work for any employer who holds a current TRSE Approval in Principle. To help you find employers that you can work for you can contact a Seasonal Labour Co-ordinator in the area you plan to work.

 

Requirements you must meet

You may be eligible for a permit under this policy if you:

 

  • are aged 18 or over
  • meet our health and character requirements
  • are genuine in your intention to work
  • are in New Zealand, and
  • have not held work permits totalling more than seven months in the last 12 months for the purpose of seasonal work in the horticulture or viticulture industries.
