The special ‘jewels’ of Tasman District include:

Abel Tasman National Park...

is an esplanade of mammoth proportions, with easy tracks, a remarkable golden fringe, blue to emerald waters and multiple shades of green covering the surrounding hills.

Kahurangi National Park...

covers an area of 452,000 hectares, and is a magnet especially to hunters ad trampers who love the magic of high country and the tests of challenging terrain.

Farewell Spit...

dividing the wild West Coast with placid Golden Bay, being a 36 kilometre spit dominated by wind and shifting schist sands, and home to a fragile ecosystem and migrating birds.

Waikoropupu Springs (more commonly known as Pupu Springs)..

are the clearest and most popular of New Zealand’s freshwater springs, and is the largest fresh water springs in the Southern Hemisphere.

Nelson Lakes National Park...

covering an area of 101,753 hectares, is the home of lakes Rotoiti and Rotoroa.   These lakes lap at the foot of beech forest and alpine tracks, and feed the powerful Buller River which is a magnet to whitewater rafters and canoeists.
