Your transit visa will cover you for a single, 24-hour stay within a New Zealand terminal. It will also cover your partner, and any dependent children 19 years old and younger. Other children will have to apply for their own visa.

Attach the requested documentation and the correct fee, and send it to the Immigration New Zealand branch that can process your application. Citizens of Fiji are exempt from paying the transit visa application fee.

If you are a Chinese national and will be transiting New Zealand with a group, you may apply for a group transit visa. Your group transit visa will cover your group for a 24-hour stay within a New Zealand terminal.
You must complete the Transit Visa Application (INZ 1019) PDF. In addition, your tour organiser or agent must complete the Group Transit Visa Application for Chinese Nationals Transiting New Zealand (INZ 1155) PDF on behalf of your group.
You must attach the requested documentation and the correct fee, and have your tour organiser or agent send it to the Beijing or Shanghai branch of Immigration New Zealand along with the application forms for the rest of your group.
