Registering for Samoan Quota Scheme

First, you must register…

To be eligible to make an application for residence under the Samoan Quota Scheme, you must lodge a registration during the official registration period each year. The next registration period will be in April/May 2007. The registration form will be available from this website, and from Immigration New Zealand offices in New Zealand and overseas.

Registrations from applicants who meet the requirements are entered into the relevant Samoan Quota Scheme pool.

Then we draw from the pools and invite you to apply

One month after the closure of the registration period, we conduct an electronic draw in which applicants’ registrations are drawn randomly from the registration pools until the appropriate number of applicants to meet the quota of available places for each country is met.

We then invite those people whose registrations were drawn from the pools to apply for residence. You’ll be notified within the month following the draw.

You need to lodge a full application for residence within six months of our writing to you advising that your registration has been drawn from the pool or by any later date that may be advised by Immigration New Zealand.  Please note: If you will turn 46 within this six month period, your residence application must be lodged with Immigration New Zealand before you turn 46.

Find out, in case your registration is drawn, how to apply for residence.

Things to note…

There are some important points we’d like you to note before you register or apply for residence.
