Auckland

The Auckland, Manakau and North Shore City Councils operate an online database which can be accessed as follows:

North Shore: http://communitydirectory.northshorecity.govt.nz

Manukau: Go to www.manukau.govt.nz.
Click on Manukau libraries community database which is under the ‘Our community’ heading in the menu to the right of your page. This will take you to a search screen where you can search for an organisation.

Auckland: www.aucklandcity.govt.nz/dbtw-wpd/accorgs/citysrch.html
This will bring up a screen where you must select a search type (keyword, easy or advanced search).

In Waitakere this database is slightly different in that it is classified by community centre. It can be accessed via this link:

Waitakere: www.waitakere.govt.nz/CnlSer/cr/cntrfacil/index.asp
This will produce a listing of all the community centres the Council operates. Clicking on a particular centre will provide you with a menu which includes the options ‘Group contact details’. This provides you with a listing of all the community groups that use the centre and their contact details.

The Waitakere City Council also produces an online New Settlers' Guide.
