Accident Compensation Scheme

All New Zealand residents are covered by a government-run accident insurance scheme. This is run by the Accident Compensation Corporation (ACC) and covers the full range of personal injuries. You’ll be covered for injuries at work, at home or during sports or other leisure activities.

You can find out more about this scheme in the Health section of our Living in New Zealand: a Guide for Migrants. Or you can get comprehensive information from the Accident Compensation Corporation website.
