Requirements of offer of employment

An acceptable offer of employment must be:

• for ongoing employment, with a single employer or 
• for one or more contracts totalling at least six months, if you have provided evidence of having had at least two years of contract work, and
• for full time employment 
• current at the time of assessing the application and at the time your visa / permit is issued
• genuine 
• for a position that is paid by salary or wages (positions of self-employment, payment by commission and/or retainer are not acceptable)

And

• if your occupation requires it, you need to have evidence of either full or provisional registration in New Zealand.

The offer must meet the requirements of relevant New Zealand employment laws.
