Business networks

We’re very enthusiastic in New Zealand about fresh ideas and creative new businesses. So there are many organisations that help to make it easier for people in business. They give advice and information – so if you’re setting up a business in New Zealand these links will be useful for you.
  • Business Development Programme
This is a really useful site. It tells you what to do when you’re starting a business and lists phone numbers as well.

  • Technology New Zealand
Brings together sources of technological advice and assistance. Most of it’s done over the Internet, so you can get help anywhere in the world.

  • New Zealand Trade and Enterprise
This is the Government’s trade and economic development agency. It has offices around the world. One of its functions is to develop markets and help individual businesses to take up new opportunities.

  • Economic Development Association of New Zealand
Regional, district and city councils all over New Zealand have economic development units that offer services to people coming into New Zealand. There are 74 of these across the country - so there’s one wherever you decide to settle.
