Changing a business proposal

We understand there are circumstances where you may need to change the business proposal you submitted as part of your application under our Long Term Business Category.

We’ll consider accepting a change to your business proposal if:

  • we can see there are genuine reasons for abandoning your original proposal
    and
  • your new business proposal meets our business plan requirements
    and
  • your new business requires at least the same investment by you as your original proposal - and you have sufficient funds
    and
  • you have relevant experience for the new business.

If we accept your new business proposal we’ll change your permit conditions to reflect your new business.

If your new proposal does not meet our requirements, and we can find no reason to make an exception, we’ll offer you the opportunity to continue with your original business proposal.

If this is not an option for you, we may revoke – take back – your Long Term Business Visa or Permit and you’ll need to leave New Zealand.
