Personal and travel documents

Make sure your travel documents are up to date well before you leave. Check that your passport is still valid. It must be valid for three months past the date you intend to leave for New Zealand.

You must have the appropriate and current visa. But not everyone needs a visa. Please check our requirements to see whether or not you need one for investing or starting a business in New Zealand.

Bring personal documents in your hand luggage. Documents that you’ll need include:

  • birth certificate for you and your family members
  • academic qualifications
  • marriage certificate if applicable
  • references from previous employers
  • curriculum vitae
  • credit references
  • international driver’s licence
  • medical and dental records for you and your family members.
