If you meet the requirements, hold a long term business visa, and are ready to apply for residence, you will need to complete and submit an Entrepreneur Plus Category Application for Residence (INZ 1169) PDF. Refer to the Entrepreneur Plus Category Guide (INZ 1168) PDF to help you fill in the application form.

When submitting your application you will need to provide documentary evidence that you meet all requirements. If you cannot demonstrate that you meet the requirements, your residence application cannot be approved.

You may submit your application through your local Immigration New Zealand branch and it will be transferred to the Business Migration Branch, or you can send the application directly to the Business Migration Branch at:

We recommend that you keep a copy of your entire application and send the original with supporting documents to us by secure registered courier or registered post.

You must be in good health. You will have to be assessed by an approved doctor. Your application must be accompanied by medical and chest x-ray certificates for each person.

You must be of good character. You will have to provide a police certificate for all applicants over 17 years.

What is the process and how long will it take?

Processing an Entrepreneur Plus application takes around three months, although how long it takes depends on many factors, for example:

• whether you provide all of the information we need to assess your application at the start
• whether there are any health issues you or your family members have which we need to assess
• how quickly we are able to receive verification from external sources regarding the information you provide
• how quickly you are able to respond to requests we make for further information.
