There are a number of requirements that you and your family members will need to meet for a residence visa or permit under the Active Investor Migrant Policy. There are some requirements that all applicants must meet, and there are some requirements which are different, depending on which category you apply under.
The principal applicant – the person making the application, or the investor – has to meet all of these requirements. Secondary applicants – the investor's partner and dependent children – have to meet health, character and, in some cases, English language requirements.
Standard requirements for all categories
Health
You and any family members accompanying you need to be in good health. When you apply for residence, you will have to be assessed by an approved doctor. Your application must be accompanied by medical and chest x-ray certificates for each person.
Character
You and any family members accompanying you must be of good character. You will have to provide police certificates for all applicants aged 17 years or over. Some people who have committed serious crimes will not be allowed into New Zealand.
Business experience
The principal applicant must have at least four years' basic business.
