Can I undertake a course of study while I'm here on a work visa?

If your planned course of study is less than three months or is a course your employer requires you to undertake as part of fulfilling your job, you can undertake the course while on a work visa.

Participants of the Canada, Germany, Japan, Taiwan and the United Kingdom Working Holiday Schemes may undertake one or more courses of study as long as the total duration of all of the courses undertaken doesn't exceed six months.

If you're in New Zealand on a working holiday visa from any other scheme, you may undertake one or more short courses as long as the total duration of all the courses undertaken doesn't exceed three months.

However, if you want to study full time and work only during term breaks you’ll need to contact us.  You may need to apply for a student visa or have the conditions of your work visa changed.
