We’ve provided a number of navigation options to help you get around our Immigration New Zealand website. And you can keep track of your location by checking the path, or breadcrumb trail, shown at the top of each page, under the top banner.
Left-hand navigation bar
The navigation bar on the left-hand side of your page gives you quick and easy access to detailed information contained in that part of the site. Titles shown on the navigation bar throughout the site consistently match the stage of your journey. Navigation bar titles change from blue to black to highlight where you are in the site.
Breadcrumb trail
Beginning with the words “Home”, the breadcrumb trail appears on the banner of each page above the main text. You can tell where you are in the site by following the trail of page labels, and you can use it to navigate back to any of the pages listed in the trail.
Immigration New Zealand logo
Clicking on this logo that’s shown at the top of each page will return you to the site’s main homepage. This is always a welcome option if you’re in a hurry and want to access another part of the site.
“I want to” selection box
This is located near the top right-hand side of each page. It enables you to quickly access another part of the site. If you click on the down arrow, a drop-down menu appears for you to make a selection.
Footer links
You'll find an alternative navigation bar centered across the very end of each page (the footer). The footer provides mainly information about Immigration New Zealand and also a feedback form.
Pop-up boxes
Throughout the site you'll find a number of popup-boxes. These pop-up boxes provide you with ready access to information that supplements what you’re reading. For example, click on a black underlined word on the page and you’ll find that a pop-up box appears with a more detailed explanation of that term.
If you open a pop-up window, click on the ‘close window’ link to return to the page you were reading.
