New IT system for Immigration New Zealand

Tuesday, 13 December 2011

The Minister of Immigration has announced that the implementation of a new immigration system to speed up the processing of visa applications and allow applicants to do more online will begin in early 2012.

Implementation of the Immigration Global Management System (IGMS) will be completed in mid 2015, with the first changes being introduced in 2013.

Customers applying for visas will have a transformed experience – they’ll have their own individual online immigration accounts that will enable them to enter all their details online and track progress on their applications.
