Argentina Working Holiday Scheme full

Friday, 30 October 2009

There are no places remaining under the 2009-2010 Argentina Working Holiday Scheme. The quota for the Argentine Working Holiday Scheme opened on 30 October at 00.01 New Zealand time (29 October 08.01 Argentine time). The 1000 places were filled in approximately 14 hours.

Immigration New Zealand ’s online application system processed approximately 70 applications per hour. Many applicants experienced delays, or were unable to access the site, due to the high number of people trying to make applications.

New Zealand has popular and successful Working Holiday Schemes with 31 countries. The interest from potential applicants is frequently much greater than the number of places available, and inevitably some people are disappointed.

The Scheme is a bilateral agreement between the governments of Argentina and New Zealand which sets a quota of 1000 places per year. A further 1000 places will become available in October 2010.
