To access VisaView, you need a RealMe account. If you’ve created a RealMe account somewhere else, you can use it here too.
RealMe is a service from the New Zealand government and New Zealand Post that includes a single login, letting you use one username and password to access a wide range of services online.
But there is much more to RealMe than just the convenience of a single login.
RealMe is also your secure online ID. Verify your RealMe account and use it to prove who you are online. This lets you to do lots of useful things over the internet that would normally require you to turn up in person. Find out more
VisaView allows New Zealand employers to check whether a person who is not a New Zealand citizen can work in New Zealand for that employer.
It also enables registered employers to confirm New Zealand passport information provided by the jobseeker, and therefore confirm New Zealand citizenship and entitlement to work in any job.
When you register for VisaView, we will ask you for your business name and ACC number (as shown on your ACC invoice).
If your employer is already registered, you will need an email invitation from the administrator of your employer account before you can make online enquiries for that employer.
To use VisaView you will need to log on using the RealMe login service. This lets you use the same login to access securely several different government online services. This saves you from having to remember multiple logon details for different government websites. Follow the links above to the RealMe website to create your RealMe login and to log on to VisaView.
When using VisaView, employers must comply with the Privacy Act 1993 in all respects, including:
VisaView does not confirm identity. A VisaView enquiry will confirm that the details of a visa presented to an employer match the details of a visa in INZ's electronic records. Employers are advised to also sight a current passport or other appropriate identity document to ensure that the biographic details in the identity document match the biographic details in the visa, and that the photograph in the identity document matches the person presenting this information.
If a person wishes to make a complaint about the VisaView service or information provided by the VisaView service, they should contact INZ through the complaints process published on our website.
