Employing overseas workers in a priority occupation
Employers may be able to access workers from overseas if they have a vacancy in a priority occupation in which New Zealand has a critical shortage of skills. We list these in our Long Term Skill Shortage List, which we update to match employer needs in New Zealand.
For the prospective employee to be eligible for a Work to Residence Work Permit an employer’s offer of employment must:
The offer of employment to the prospective employee will need to meet a number of our requirements.
And the prospective employee will also need to meet a range of requirements.
If both the employer and prospective employee meet our requirements, the employee can apply for a Work Permit under our Work to Residence, Long Term Skills List work category.
