New Zealand Trade and Enterprise (NZTE) has a long term vision of working with education institutions, Tourism New Zealand, Education New Zealand and other partners to maximise the economic benefits of the international education sector. International education is projected to generate $7 billion in annual foreign exchange earnings by 2025.

NZTE’s future focus in the international education sector includes actively encouraging market diversification beyond East Asia. It also includes promoting the sustainable development of our international education sector in regions beyond Auckland. They also plan to develop new business with vocational courses and trans-national training, for example offshore campuses, e-learning and consultancies.
