Changing courses or providers

Once a student is here, if they find they want to change either the course they’re taking or the education provider offering the course, they can apply for a variation to their Student Permit.

We can vary a Student Permit to allow a student from overseas to study in New Zealand for the time covered by the fees they’ve already paid, or if they’re exempt from paying fees, until the new course ends.

To be eligible…

The student must:

• prove they have an offer of a place in the course or institution to which they wish to transfer to.
