Applying for a further permit?

If students from overseas are in New Zealand and applying for a further permit, they need to allow sufficient time for a decision to be made on their application before their current permit expires.  If the student's current permit does expire, their application for a further permit does not make their stay in New Zealand lawful or give them the right to remain in New Zealand.
