99% within 60 days
Work permit/visa

70% within 15 days
80% within 30 days

Student permit/visa
We will decide:
80% within 15 days
95% within 30 days
99% within 60 days
If your visitor visa application will take longer than 10 working days or you are lodging a different type of application, we will advise you of the processing time within 10 working days if it cannot be decided within this period.
Some applications can take longer than two months to process if, for example, your medical certificate requires referral to the medical assessor in New Zealand, or more verification is required onshore of your employment situation. It is in your best interest to ensure that all work visa applications for ANZSCO level 4 and 5 roles are submitted with ample evidence of engagement by a New Zealand employer with local Work and Income offices confirming vacancies lodged.
