This page contains branch-specific information for Filipino nationals and other nationals residing in the Philippines, wishing to visit family members who are studying or about to study in New Zealand.

Visiting your child in New Zealand as they undertake their educational development is travel that we here at INZ Manila believe is an important contributing factor to their future academic success. We would like to encourage this and hope that this information clarifies the travel options available for Philippine parents of student visa holders.

In order to be eligible for the conditions of this profile, you must meet (and supply evidence in your application) the following criteria and requirements.

• You are the legal guardian/parent of a valid New Zealand student visa holder. 
• For your child’s application, you were the primary financial sponsor of their study plan, ie maintenance funds and course fees. 
• You have an intention to stay less than 59 days for each period of travel to New Zealand. 
• You remain in full-time paid employment in the Philippines, or are legally retired. 
• You have sufficient travel funds.  

Parents of student visa holders who meet the positive profile will be issued with a one-year multiple entry visitor visa (or in line with your child’s valid student visa, whichever is relevant), with each stay valid for a period of no more than 59 days. Please note you cannot stay for periods totalling longer than six months in each 12-month period.
