This will mean that it may take up to 30 days to have your application finalised if submitted manually to the London office. People wishing to obtain a working holiday visa for New Zealand under any of the schemes processed online, including the Czech, Irish and UK schemes, should therefore make their application through our website, where most applications are finalised within 48 hours.

should not have to provide full medical and x-ray certificates when lodging an application unless they have spent time in a country which is which is not considered to have a low incidence of TB.

There is no cap on the number of working holiday visas that can be issued to British citizens each year. You can choose to apply for either a 12 month or a 23 month working holiday visa. If you apply for a 23 month working holiday visa you will need to provide full medical and x-ray certificates, which must be completed by an INZ panel doctor and radiologist. If you apply for a 12 month working holiday visa and then later decide you want to spend longer in New Zealand you can apply for an extension to take you up to the full 23 months when you are in New Zealand. If you decide to do this you will need to provide medical and x-ray certificates at the time you apply for the extension. Whether you apply for a 12 month or 23 month working holiday visa you can only work for 12 months of your stay.
Note: If you apply for a 12 month working holiday visa initially and choose to later apply for the extension to 23 months, you must be in New Zealand - we cannot process these applications for extensions from outside of New Zealand.
