Applications from people in Cook Islands and Niue

From 18 September 2012, people applying from Niue and Rarotonga submit all visa applications to Immigration New Zealand's Northern Region Documentation Branch (NDB) in Auckland, New Zealand.

Paying the fee

NDB accepts New Zealand dollar bank drafts and credit card payments only. We do not accept cash. To find the fee for your visa, see the fees finder.

Postage

You will be required to pay all postage costs to send your visa application to NDB. However all postage costs to return your passport and/or any documents will be covered by INZ. Please note that couriers will only deliver to a physical address (they do not deliver to a post box).

How long will it take?

We aim to decide 90% of temporary visa applications within 25 days.

 

Once your application is received and allocated for processing, it will be decided in 5 working days or you will be contacted (by email) by your immigration officer and advised of the expected processing time.

How can I get in touch with my immigration officer?

If your application is not decided within 5 working days (as described above) your immigration officer will contact you if you are required to provide any further information.

 

If you have not heard from an immigration officer and would like to know the status of your application, you are welcome to call the Immigration Contact Centre (ICC) in New Zealand:
+64 9 914 4100 – Operators are available from 7am to 7pm (NZ time) Monday to Friday (overseas call rates apply).

 

If your application has been allocated to an immigration officer, ICC will provide you with your immigration officer’s direct contact details.
