Welcome to Immigration New Zealand — Suva Branch

Suva Branch is one of three Immigration New Zealand (INZ) offices located in the Pacific. Our office is located on the 8th floor of the Reserve Bank Building, Pratt Street in Suva.

The Suva branch employs 22 staff, who process around 18,000 temporary visa applications a year. Family residence applications are also processed here in Fiji. We have staff members who are fluent in English, Fijian and Hindustani.

The Suva branch also maintains a close relationship with MFAT posts in Port Vila and Tarawa and services visa needs for Tuvalu.  All agency posts have trained and warranted immigration officers.

We have, over the past year, been operating on a mail-in-only system. Most people say this has been a welcome initiative. You no longer need to queue outside the Reserve Bank Building sometimes for long periods in the sun or the rain. Simply send your application in by courier, and we will return your passport by courier. If you provide an email address on your application you will receive a confirmation that we have received your application, and an application number.

We approve about 87 per cent of all applications we receive and we return over 70 per cent of passports within the first two weeks.

Please send your queries for Suva Branch to nzissuva@dol.govt.nz in the first instance. We aim to respond to email queries within two working days.
