The Singapore VAC sends a number of applications every day to be processed by INZ Bangkok Office which is the hub for the South East Asia region.
Once these applications are finalised, INZ Bangkok will return passports and original documents to the Singapore VAC where they can be collected in person or couriered to our customers.
If you require your passport during the processing of your visa application please inform the Singapore VAC and submit a photocopy of your passport with your visa application.
It is highly recommended that you submit your passport along with your visa application. If you do not, this will delay the processing of your application and may incur a further courier costs.
Applications that will be processed by INZ Bangkok Office include the following:
Please note: This list is not exhaustive and may change depending on the volume of applications submitted to INZ at any given time.
The table below shows the percentage of applications processed in the branch within 25 days for the last three months.
In some cases, where more information is needed to support an application, for example a labour market check or a medical referral, applications can take considerably longer than 25 days. Other than the table above, we are unable to predict how long each individual application is likely to take, but we are committed to delivering the fastest possible service and we will keep in touch with you throughout the process of your application.
Applicants should continue to allow at least five weeks for the processing of visa applications. Some applications may take longer to process than others and we will not necessarily know how long we will take to process your application until it is assessed.
Applications may take longer than five weeks to process:
Note: This list is not an exhaustive list of reasons why your application may not be processed within five weeks.
While Singapore Office may be the receiving office for your application, please note that some applications submitted to us must be transferred to New Zealand for processing. This is likely to mean that the processing time is longer than if the application could be processed in Singapore. We will contact you should this apply to your application.
It is important that you provide us with as much time to process your application as possible and we stress that you should not make irreversible travel plans before your visa is issued. Any bookings made are made at the risk of the applicant.
The receiving office for all family residence class visas applications from Brunei, Malaysia, Singapore and Seychelles is the Singapore Visa Application Centre (VAC).
All family residence class visas applications from Brunei, Malaysia, Singapore and Seychelles are processed by Immigration New Zealand in Bangkok. You will receive an acknowledgement letter within fourteen days of your application being received by the Bangkok Area Office. Your application will then be allocated to an immigration officer for assessment. An assessment on the application will occur within one month of allocation and you will receive more specific information from your immigration officer about the processing timeframes and any further requirements for your application.
