The Palmerston North Branch of Immigration New Zealand is situated close to the heart of the CBD of ‘Knowledge City’ in the Manawatu. Thirty staff are currently employed in the branch.
The branch processes applications from as far afield as Otaki in the South, Waitara in the West across to Turangi and Hick Bay in the East, down the East Coast through Hawke's Bay and northern Wairarapa to Castle Point.
Palmerston North Branch also has a dedicated student processing section, responsible for the processing of all student permit applications tendered across all of New Zealand.
The months of January through to April are traditionally the busiest times of the year for the branch, with seasonal work demands in the Hawke's Bay area and international students applying for permit renewals during this period.
