Moscow branch processing times

Christmas - New Year visa application processing deadlines.

The majority of temporary visas are processed in less than 14 working days. Any applications requiring additional information, verification, or interview, or those involving the determination of a relationship, can take longer. Applications received during peak periods, for example Christmas, may also take longer. Applications should be lodged early during peak periods to allow for a longer processing time.

An application for a visa for urgent travel will take at least seven working days to process.

How soon can you expect your temporary visa application to be finalised?

The table below shows the percentage of applications processed in the branch within 25 days for the last three months.

Percentage of visa applications processed within 25 days
Visa type February 2013 March 2013 April 2013
Student 93% 92% 94%
Visitor 98% 98% 98%
Work 79% 84% 92%

In some cases, where more information is needed to support an application, for example a labour market check or a medical referral, applications can take considerably longer than 25 days. Other than the table above, we are unable to predict how long each individual application is likely to take, but we are committed to delivering the fastest possible service and we will keep in touch with you throughout the process of your application.

One factor that impacts on processing time is the number of enquiries we receive about applications that have not yet been lodged with INZ. Please check that an application has been lodged before making an enquiry with us.
