The Moscow branch employs eight staff and operates out of the Embassy of New Zealand in Moscow. We have been operating as an Immigration New Zealand branch since 2000. Our most experienced staff member has been processing applications for more than 20 years. All the immigration officers employed at the Moscow branch are fluent in Russian and English.
Each year we process more than 4,000 applications made up of applications for: visitor, work, student, permanent residence (Family Categories), resident visas, limited visas, and transit visas.
We are responsible for processing all of the above types of visas for the following countries: Armenia, Tajikistan, Azerbaijan, Turkmenistan, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, Ukraine, Russia, and Uzbekistan.
All applicants from the above countries will need a visa to go to New Zealand. This includes people who wish to transit New Zealand.
Please make sure to obtain a transit visa, if this is required, on the way to/from New Zealand. Keep in mind that if you do not have the required transit visa, you may be denied boarding the aircraft. Additional information on transit visas should be sought from your airline company, travel agent or at the embassy of the relevant country.
For Lithuania, Latvia, and Estonia we process permanent residence visa (Family Category) applications only. The citizens of these countries are exempt from having to obtain a temporary visa for visits up to three months. Visa waiver does not apply to people travelling on alien's (non-citizen's) passports issued by these countries.
