Hong Kong branch process both temporary entry and residence applications (except Skilled and Business Migration categories) for residents in Hong Kong and Macau and residence applications (Family categories only) for Taiwan.
We also process all temporary entry visa applications for the three provinces on the south-eastern seaboard of China – Hainan, Guangxi, and Guangdong (including Shenzhen SEZ). However, all residence applications for these three provinces are processed by Beijing Branch.
In addition, the Hong Kong branch oversees temporary visa services and process family residence applications provided through the New Zealand embassies in Tokyo, Japan, and Seoul, South Korea.
Temporary entry applications for visitor, student, and work visas provide the highest demand with approximately 10,000 visa decisions made each year. A small number of Family Category residence applications are also processed by the branch.
