The Chinese bank loan scheme phased out

Friday, 25 February 2011

Immigration New Zealand's China branches advise that the Chinese bank loan scheme has been phased out and is no longer accepted as evidence of personal funds.  In 2010 the Bank of China ceased being a partner in the bank loan scheme, leaving CITIC bank as the sole remaining partner.

Due to low uptake of bank loans and the increasing popularity of the Funds Transfer Scheme, it has been decided by mutual agreement to end the bank loan scheme.

The Funds Transfer Scheme remains active. More information is available on the China branches webpages.
