Welcome to Immigration New Zealand − Beijing branch

Beijing branch employs 42 staff, divided into three teams – temporary entry team, residence team, and the HR/admin/finance team. Details for each team are listed under staff contacts on the contact details page.

 

This branch is responsible for processing visas for all provinces in the People's Republic of China and Mongolia, except the following provinces:

  • Jiangsu, Shanghai, Zhejiang, Anhui, Jiangxi, and Fujian (Shanghai branch)
  • Guangxi, Guangdong, and Hainan provinces (Hong Kong branch). Residence visa applications from these three provinces should be lodged with the Beijing branch.

The following languages are spoken by staff at the Beijing branch:

  • Mandarin
  • English
  • a small number of dialects such as Shanghaihua and Minnanhua.

VFS Global Services (VFS) has been appointed by Immigration New Zealand (INZ) as a collection agent for visa applications with effect from 12 August in Shanghai and from 17 October 2011 for Beijing, Guangzhou and Hong Kong.

From 17 October 2011 applications for visas from people who are resident in Beijing, Tianjin, Hebei, Shanxi, Inner Mongolia, Liaoning, Jilin, Heilongjiang, Shandong, Henan, Hubei, Hunan, Chongqing, Sichuan, Guizhou, Yunnan, Tibet, Shaanxi, Gansu, Qinghai, Ningxia, Xinjiang must be lodged, either in person or by mail, at the Visa Application Centre (VAC).
