The Beijing branch employs 37 staff, divided into three teams – temporary entry team, residence team, and the HR / admin / finance team. Details for each team are listed under staff contacts on the contact details page.
The branch is responsible for processing visas for all provinces in the People's Republic of China and Mongolia, except the following provinces:
- Shanghai branch is responsible for Jiangsu, Shanghai, Zhejiang, Anhui, Jiangxi, and Fujian provinces
- Hong Kong branch is responsible for all temporary entry visa applications from Guangxi, Guangdong, and Hainan provinces. Residence visa applications from these three provinces should be lodged with the Beijing branch.
The following languages are spoken by staff at the Beijing branch:
- Mandarin
- English
- a small number of dialects such as Shanghaihua and Minnanhua
- Dutch
- French.

New Zealand’s Immigration Advisers Licensing Act aims to protect migrants by licensing people who provide New Zealand immigration advice, both within New Zealand and offshore. Offshore people who are licensed by the Immigration Advisers Authority, the organisation responsible for managing New Zealand immigration adviser licensing, will be able to show the global marketplace that they meet New Zealand Government quality standards.
