Welcome to Immigration New Zealand – Bangkok

The Bangkok branch is a regional processing centre for applications from many countries in South East Asia and the Middle East.

 

Staff process applications from the following countries.

Temporary entry (student, visitor, work) applications

Cambodia, Israel, Laos, Thailand, Iraq, Sri Lanka and Myanmar.

Residence applications

Cambodia, Iraq, Israel, Laos, Myanmar, Sri Lanka, Thailand, and Vietnam.

Immigration advisers

A reminder that all immigration advisers MUST be licensed with the Immigration Advisers Authority (IAA), unless they are exempt.

 

Please note that we may refuse to process your application if you have received advice from an unlicensed immigration adviser.

Change in approach to decision-making processes for offshore temporary visa applications effective 21 November, 2011

Immigration New Zealand (INZ) will consider all of the information you provide in support of your application but we are not obliged to ask you for more. So, with evidence that you meet the particular requirements for the type of visa you are applying for, you should provide any evidence that you think demonstrates that you are a bona fide applicant. Please read the section under "Assessing your application: bona fides" in the relevant guide for the type of temporary visa you are applying for. See our forms and guides for more information.

Christmas and New Year closure

Our office will be closed from 2:00pm Friday 23 December, 2011 and will re-open at 9:00am Tuesday 3 January, 2012. It will not be possible to lodge any applications during this time. Also, please do not send in passports just before this time unless by prior arrangement as we will not be able to return them during the above dates.

Change to receiving office for resident visa: Family Category applications
Thursday, 29 March 2012
From 16 April 2012 applicants who are resident in the Philippines will be required to submit applications for resident visas under the Family Category directly to the Immigration New Zealand office in Shanghai.

Translation update for Thai applicants only
Wednesday, 30 November 2011
From 4 April 2011 you will not be required to provide certified translations of any non-English documents submitted in support of your application. However, please note that Immigration New Zealand may request that you provide a certified translation of any documents not written in English if it is deemed necessary by an immigration officer.
