A15.30 Delegation of the Power to Waive Residence Application Lodgement Requirements (19/02/2004)

I, LIANNE DALZIEL, MINISTER OF IMMIGRATION, acting pursuant to section 131(1) of the Immigration Act 1987, hereby delegate to:

  1. all immigration officers who are the holders (or are acting as the holders) of the following positions:
    1. Secretary of Labour;
    2. General Manager, New Zealand Immigration Service;
    3. Chief Operating Officer, New Zealand Immigration Service;
    4. Service Excellence Manager, New Zealand Immigration Service;
    5. Manager, Policy Research and Development, New Zealand Immigration Service;
    6. Market Manager, New Zealand Immigration Service;
    7. Service Manager, New Zealand Immigration Service; and
  2. all immigration officers who are found in Levels 1 or 2 of the Interim Competency Schedules held by the General Manager of the NZIS; and
  3. visa officers who hold the position of Service Leader;

the power conferred by regulation 3(7) of the Immigration Regulations 1999 to waive, by special direction, either in whole or in part, the requirements in regulations 4 and 10 of the Immigration Regulations 1999 for particular documents to be tendered with the approved application form, in respect of applications made under the Skilled Migrant Category of Government residence policy.

Any person who exercises any power pursuant to this Instrument of Delegation shall do so in accordance with the Government policy and Departmental instructions that are current at the time, or set out from time to time in the Departmental Manual of Instructions or through individual circular instructions on Immigration.
