01 APIARIST

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

Recommended Experience

National Certificate in Apiculture Level 3 AND at least two years’ relevant experience.

Many employers also prefer employees to have a current driver's licence and Heavy Trade licence.

Registration

Beekeepers are not required to be registered. However, each apiary site must be registered with the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry to help monitor diseases that affect bees. Visit: www.maf.govt.nz.
